Yes, I produce garbage. It would be a lie if I denied that.

But it's not as much as it looks on pictures or videos.

For example, if I fill a 250 ml beaker with resin, let it set and then work with it on the lathe, I'll end up with a 160 liter garbage bag full of resin chips. A 160 liter trash bag that weighs as much as the 250 ml resin. The point? The volume is deceptive. What the viewer sees is usually not what is actually generated.

But yes, back to the topic. In this hobby, of course, I try to avoid garbage. How?

The wood shavings can, because I use only untreated wood, still thrown in the oven, or even in the garden or the terrarium.

Where do I get my wood from? I mainly use wood that is declared as "waste". Or a neighbor is so kind and gives me some of his firewood. Or the colleague finds something in the forest again. Occasionally, of course, I also order small amounts of wood waste from a carpentry.

If I use resin, i produce dust and shavings. Sometimes I collect both and create new works from it. There are fascinating effects when mixing resin dust in a blank.

Of course, I have to work with water sometimes. This means that I cool my drill with water, which then "absorbes" and removes the dust. In that case, I have filters in the apartment, which I can use to clear the water from the dust, before disposing of it in the toilet for further cleaning.
